Friends of the Albany Public Library
Supporting programs and equipment beyond the city budget.
Established in 1941, the Friends of the Albany Public Library provide essential funding for programs and equipment not covered by the City budget. As the Library’s services expand, the support of the Friends is more important than ever. For more information, contact [email protected].
Community members can donate or renew their membership to help keep the library’s collection fresh, relevant, and engaging. In 2025, contributions from the Friends will fund 100% of all new materials, including popular titles, eBooks, eAudiobooks, and more.
The Friends also support the state’s top-rated Summer Reading Program. In 2024, they helped distribute over 13,000 new books and prizes to local children. The goal for 2025 is 15,000 books, along with exciting rewards from local businesses.

Friends & Foundation of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library
Supporting learning, literacy, and community connection.
The Friends & Foundation of the Library enriches the lives of Benton County residents by supporting a vibrant, accessible, and inclusive Corvallis-Benton County Public Library system through advocacy, volunteerism, and philanthropy.
This support makes possible many of the programs and materials the community values—including the beloved Summer Reading Program, which encourages young readers and keeps learning alive all summer long.
In 2025, the organization launched under a new unified name: Friends & Foundation of the Library. While the name is new, the commitment to strengthening the library remains the same. Streamlined operations
will allow for even greater community impact moving forward.
Community members are invited to help write the next chapter of the library’s story. To learn more and donate, visit: bit.ly/cbcplfriendsandfoundation
